Pro-Tec II lead-free tungsten syringe shield is precision-machined exclusively for BD Plastipak™ 3 cc & 5 cc three-piece Luer-Lok syringes. Constructed from 95WNiFe tungsten heavy alloy (18.1±0.15 g/cm³). It reduces hand and finger extremity dose for technologists when handling ¹⁸F-FDG and Ga-68 in PET radiopharmacy labs. Fitted with removable black TPU shell to protect leaded glass viewing window. Material certificates including EN10204 3.1 and COA are available upon request. OEM & custom modification supported.

Product Overview

Pro-Tec II tungsten syringe shield is a lead-free radiation-protection device built for nuclear pharmacy and PET hot-lab workflows. It minimizes extremity radiation exposure during radiopharmaceutical dose drawing, manual dispensing, handheld transport and injection administration.

The shielding body is sintered and CNC-machined from high-performance 95WNiFe tungsten heavy alloy. The complete unit consists of tungsten alloy body, side leadedglass viewing window, knurled thumb-screw locking knob and split removable black TPU protective shell.

The split-style black TPU shell wraps the tungsten substrate. It absorbs impact and prevents scratches on fragile leaded glass, while offering non-slip comfortable grip for handheld operation. The TPU surface is easy to wipe and compatible with standard medical disinfection protocols.

Operators can directly read syringe graduations and observe realtime liquid volume through the leadedglass side window, without taking the syringe out of the shield. The tool-free knurled thumb-screw firmly clamps the syringe barrel to avoid accidental slippage during handling and transfer.

This high-density tungsten alloy delivers reliable attenuation for 511 keV gamma radiation from positronemitting isotopes such as ¹⁸F-FDG and Ga-68. Custom options include non-magnetic tungsten alloy, modified inner cavity dimension, resized viewing window and laser marking / OEM adjustments.
