Tungsten Alloy Bar
Tungsten alloy bar is consisting of 85-99% tungsten with balanced commonly nickel and iron or copper and other component. The alloys are made by liquid-phase sintering to give a structure consisting of almost pure tungsten particles in a matrix of the alloy elements. Tungsten alloy bar is
enlarging a hole that has already been drilled or cast by means of a single-point cutting tool to achieve greater accuracy of the diameter of a hole such as in boring a cannon barrel. In addition, it can be used to cut a tapered hole.

Tungsten alloy bars can be machined into round shape or square shape, and it is one of the most important products of tungsten heavy alloy.

Tungsten alloy is often used in making tungsten alloy bar due to its high density ranging from 16.5 to 18.5 g/cm3, about 50 percent higher than lead and much higher than steel. In addition, with high melting point, tungsten alloy keeps its properties when other metals start to melt under high temperature.
Application of Tungsten Alloy Bar
Typical applications of tungsten alloy bar include weights and counterbalances for aircraft control surfaces and rotor blades, guidance platforms, flywheels, turbines and crankshafts of engine; it also can be machined into vibration reducing knife rest, filaments and fuse masses. Tungsten steel and electrode with various kinds of heat element and mainly be used in guns, artillery, rockets, satellite, airplane and ship. Other applications include radiation shielding, gyro rotors, weapons
including armor piercing applications, and high temperature tooling.
